The American is yet another movie from George Clooney’s portfolio. Jack is a contract killer that is relaxing with his girlfriend Ingrid in Sweden when suddenly he finds out that there is a sniper. Eventually, Jack kills both the sniper and Ingrid as he thinks that his identity is in jeopardy. He flees to a small Italian village where he gets on well with the villagers and meets Mathilde, an assassin, and Clara who is a prostitute. Gradually, he falls in love with Clara and even envisions his life with her. Later, he finds out that he is being followed by an assassin who is trying to kill him. That is a turning point in the movie and the plot becomes even more complicated and intriguing.
