Okay, here’s the good news: From December 14, Foxtel is hosting a dedicated Christmas pop up channel on Channel 400, with a different Christmas classic available each day for l Foxtel Movies and Foxtel Platinum subscribers.

Here’s the bad news: Foxtel’s definition of “Christmas classic” seems to be at odds with the general consensus. There’s no Die Hard. No Scrooged. No Gremlins. No It’s a Wonderful Life. Nothing – absolutely nothing – from Shane Black’s oeuvre.

Guys, there’s no Bad Santa.

Here’s what there is, though:

December 14: The Family Stone

December 15: Fred Claus

December 16: Four Holidays

December 17: Elf

December 18: Home Alone

December 19: Jack Frost

December 20: Angels Sing

December 21: A Christmas Melody

December 22: Jingle All the Way

December 23: Love the Coopers

December 24: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas

December 25: Miracle on 34th Street

There are, being generous, three good movies there. Feel free to argue over which ones they are.
