Last time we checked in with director Storm Ashwood and producer Blake Northfield they were deep in production on the modern fantasy movie The School. While that ambitious project has yet to see release, the pair have not been resting on their laurels, having decamped to the Queensland rain forest for the action thriller, Escape and Evasion.
Written and directed by Ashwood and starring Hugh Sheridan, Josh Mcconville, Rena Owen, Firass Dirani, and Steve Le Marquand, Escape and Evasion is set in contemporary Burma. The plot details are thin – “After his men are killed in Burma. A lone soldier returns home in search of solace. Hiding a dark secret and confronted by an unrelenting journalist, he’s forced to face the ghosts of his past one last time.” – but judging from the pics below, facing the ghosts of his past will involve a lot of jungle action.
Escape and Evasion is now five weeks into post-production. Hopefully we’ll be getting a trailer sooner rather than later.
