It was joy, not a mess, when we visited the set of the latest film by Heath Davis (Book Week, Broke).

… a solid holiday character piece with a lot of heart and an appreciable lack of artifice.

Heath Davis’s brand of bittersweet is on full display with his latest sad sack tale of a has-been actor (Steve Le Marquand) jobbing as a mall Santa, who ends up in a boarding house with Darren Gilshenan and Middle Kids’ Hannah Joy (not playing themselves, though Joy does provide a number of new songs for the soundtrack), before being reunited with his daughter and meeting his grandchild.
