After the misfire that was The Bourne Legacy, all and sundry involved in the fifth installment of the post-modern spy franchise are doing their darnedest to stay completely on message: Bourne is back. They didn’t even trouble themselves coming up with a clever title this time: just Jason Bourne, another choice made to reassure potential viewers that this one will not be featuring Jeremy Renner (sorry, Renner).
In a similar vein, this fresh-off-the-editing-suite featurette is essentially designed to show us just how happy everyone is to be back on the Bourne train, with star Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass both waxing lyrical about how great it is to be in the saddle again (both sat out the last film). We don’t get to see a lot of new footage – if any – but even the stuff we were exposed to in the first trailer is still pretty exciting.
