c31 Melbourne and Geelong have posted on their Facebook page that Senator Mitch Fifield, Federal Minister for the Arts, has informed them that their free-to-air licenses have been extended by six months – incredibly good news considering that we were looking at the end of community TV as we know it this month.

That’s all we know at this point – it’s not even confirmed that this extension covers all community channels or merely Victoria’s. Filmink have reached out to c31 for further comment.
