Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Will it stay at the top of the box office from this Thursday when Fantastic Four is released? Well, unlikely, but James Gunn’s refresh of DC’s biggest hero has certainly done the trick, making most DC fanboys and girls ecstatic – apart from those Zack Snyder tragics, but at least they have still got Rebel Moon and the Dead franchise.
And, for fear of sounding like a broken record, and in case any Australian politicians are reading, check out how badly (and how few) Australian films fare compared to American releases, and remember how embraced our talent is by the US system. Please bear in mind as local screen businesses are shut down and our best and brightest talent have to move overseas or change careers, as you are dragged screaming to put some sort of quota in place for streaming companies before your own children start calling g-strings thongs.
