It’s been in the works for a long, long time, but the new big screen take on James O’Barr’s black-as-night comic book phenomenon The Crow is on its way…with a new poster and trailer.
“There’s nothing to do with Hollywood in this movie at all,” director Rupert Sanders has said of his new version of James O’Barr’s graphic novel The Crow. “It’s a very scrappy indie movie. We were able to remain close to the centre and the darkness and the violence that’s in the graphic novel.”
Starring Bill Skarsgard (best known for playing Pennywise The Clown in the big screen adaptations of Stephen King’s IT) as Eric, the death-defying, from-beyond-the-grave avenging angel, this dark urban fable from director Rupert Sanders (Snow White And The Huntsman, Ghost In The Shell) is in no way related to Alex Proyas’s original ill-fated cult classic starring the late Brandon Lee. This is a whole new journey into the heart of darkness, which also stars Danny Huston and FKA Twigs, and will be released in cinemas on August 29, 2024.
