The 11th Czech and Slovak Film Festival in Sydney brings to the Newtown Dendy Cinema 5 days packed with an eclectic range of great films.

Choose from a Pre-war drama revolving around a discovery of the dead newborn intersex baby (We Have Never Been Modern/Usvit)- at the opening night on March 20th, Czech-canadian co production with a theme of love, loyalty, betrayal – and collaboration with a secret police (Reveillon) or a thriller exploring the impact of social media on our lives #annaismissing.

Each year the festival brings a collection of short films, many of which are decorated by international awards.

The festival is popular both within the Czech and Slovak community and film lovers: over the years it has become a meeting hub, where people don’t hesitate to travel across Sydney to take part.

The five-day showcase will kick off on Wednesday March 20th by a festive Opening night with drinks on arrival and Matěj Chlupáček’s superbly shot film, We Have Never Been Modern /Usvit.
