Shapero plays the lead role of Jenny in the adaptation of Daniel Shinar’s bestseller, a tale that follows two friends – one Israeli, one Palestinian – that are caught not only in a web of espionage but also in a desperate love triangle with the same woman.
The limited series hails from writers Daniel Amsel and Ron Leshem (creators of the original Israeli EUPHORIA on which HBO’s smash hit is based), and is directed by Alon Zingman (the multi-award-winning Netflix TV Series Shtisel).
Shapero’s other international projects include the upcoming sports biopic Li Na: My Life, where she will co-star alongside French megastar Vincent Cassel (Black Swan, Eastern Promises).
Shapero continues to grow her international career – it has just been announced that she will play the lead role of Nora in American cable network FX’s pilot of The Border – an adaptation of novelist Don Winslow’s cartel trilogy. The series is developed by writers Shane Salerno (Avatar: The Way of Water) and Daniel Zelman (Bloodline, Damages), who will also serve as showrunner. The pilot will be helmed by director Jayro Bustamante who was responsible for 2019’s brilliant Guatemalan horror feature La Llorona.
Red Skies and The Border are set for release in 2023
