Filmed in front of a live audience at Southbank Theatre in Melbourne, MTC Digital Theatre’s THE HEARTBREAK CHOIR will mark the first cinematic release of an MTC Digital Theatre production. Carlton’s Cinema Nova will be the exclusive Melbourne home of MTC Digital Theatre cinema screenings.
Brought to the stage by The Architect’s Peter Houghton, THE HEARTBREAK CHOIR is a joyful, song-filled snapshot of a devastated community learning how to heal. This emotionally resonant MTC NEXT STAGE commission is the last work from playwright Aidan Fennessy – a fitting final act of togetherness.
