Created by and starring husband/wife team Fiona Harris and Mike McLeish, The Drop Off will be immediately recognisable for anyone with primary school aged children. The daily weekday ritual of dropping off and picking up your kids, mixing with the parents of your kids’ friends and foes, is ripe material for satire, and The Drop Off has it in spades. And due to parents’ busy schedules, a web series is the perfect way to consume this content. Series 1 was a raging success, and Season 2 has Screen Australia support for the 6 episode series.
Harris and McLeish are both seasoned performers, with the former writing and co-starring in the ABC comedy show, Flipside, as well as starring in Channel 9’s sketch show Comedy Inc – The Late Shift and Network Ten’s SkitHouse. She was also head-writer for ABC’s Prank Patrol, along with various books, and is a familiar face on TV in shows such as Offspring and Ex-PM. McLeish has enjoyed a stellar career on the stage, playing the lead role in Keating! The Musical, along with roles in Shane Warne The Musical, Georgy Girl: The Seekers Musical and most recently Beautiful:The Carole King Musical.

Co-starring in the show are Christie Whelan Brown (That’s Not My Dog, M4M, Spin Out) and musical comedy troupe Tripod’s Scott Edgar. Guest stars include Rohan Brown, Lyall Brooks, Pia Miranda, Georgina Naidu and Trudy Hellier.
Behind the camera are director Tori Garrett (Don’t Tell), DOP Joanne Donahoe-Beckwith (web series Little Acorns, Utopia) and EP Paul Walton from Princess Pictures.
