Geoffrey Rush and Johnny Flynn will both portray physicist Albert Einstein in the 10 part National Geographic series, Genius. Rather obviously, Rush will play Einstein in his latter years, while Flynn will bring the scientist’s wild and crazy patent clerk days to life.

And here’s the old boy himself, circa 1925, for reference:

Based on Walter Isaacson’s book, Einstein: His Life and Universe, Genius will bring to life key moments and discoveries from across the span of Einstein’s career. the project has attracted some impressive talent; not only do Emily Watson, Michael McElhatton, Seth Gabel, Samantha Colley, Richard Topol, and Vincent Kartheiser co-star, but the first episode is being directed by none other than Ron Howard – the first time the A-lister has called the shots on a TV drama.

Genius is currently shooting in Prague, and will air some time in 2017.
