Nick Park, a man known far and wide for his love of whimsical ties and being the creator of Wallace and Gromit, has begun work on his next stop-motion feature. Sticking with the trusty “one man and his long-suffering dog” formula, Early Man follows the exploits of an amiable caveperson, Dug, and his animal sidekick, Hognob. We’ll let the official synopsis do the heavy lifting:
“Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of how plucky caveman Dug, along with sidekick Hognob, unites his tribe against the mighty Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game.”
So, it seems our hero, who will be voiced by none other than Eddie Redmayne, is an antiprogressive pre-Luddite. What would Wallace think?
Early Man is scheduled for a March 29, 2018 Australian release.
