When Samuel (Ethan Hawke) is torn from his daughter and sent to a brutal prison, Warden Clancy (Russell Crowe) offers him a high-stakes proposition: join a dangerous crew of prisoners on a perilous mission to smuggle gold out of a remote mine, and he’ll earn his freedom.
With little choice but to accept, Samuel is thrust into the unforgiving wilderness alongside a group of hardened criminals, where the promise of riches quickly turns the men against one another. As the journey grows increasingly treacherous, tensions rise and loyalties fracture, revealing that the greatest danger may not be the hostile terrain, but the greed, suspicion and violence festering within the group.
With every mile bringing him closer to freedom – and further into danger – Samuel must navigate a deadly web of betrayal and survival, risking everything in the hope of making it back to his daughter.
