Following Anousha Zarkesh stepping down as Vice President, the Casting Guild of Australia (CGA) is delighted to announce that its members have voted in Thea McLeod as President for her fifth year, alongside Lisa Campbell as Vice President, marking an exciting and inspiring new chapter for the Guild.
The Guild would like to sincerely thank Anousha for her extraordinary contribution, dedication, and leadership during her time as Vice President. We are also so pleased that Anousha will continue her involvement with the CGA as part of both the Executive Committee and the Inclusion Committee, ensuring her invaluable voice and leadership remain at the heart of the Guild.
Anousha has been an absolute powerhouse within the CGA, bringing integrity, passion, and heart to everything she has done. Her impact on the Guild and the wider industry has been truly significant, particularly through her leadership of First Nations initiatives and her unwavering commitment to championing inclusion, representation, and opportunity.
Her work has helped shape a stronger, more connected, and more inclusive casting community, and her legacy within the Guild will continue to be felt for many years to come.

Her passion, integrity, and generosity of spirit have been felt across everything she has done. I am so grateful for her support, her leadership, and the care she brings to our community. I’m also so thrilled she will continue to be part of the Executive, TV and Film and Inclusion Committee, we are very lucky to still have her so closely involved.”
The Guild is absolutely thrilled to welcome Lisa Campbell [pictured] as Vice President. A highly respected casting director with a strong focus on theatre and musical theatre, Lisa brings a wealth of experience, artistry, and a deep understanding of performance. She is widely admired for her collaborative approach, her brilliant creative instincts, and her genuine passion for actors and storytelling.
Lisa’s deep connection to the theatre community, particularly within musical theatre, brings a valuable perspective to the Guild. Her commitment to nurturing talent and supporting the industry makes her an outstanding addition to the leadership team.
President Thea McLeod said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have Lisa step into the Vice President role. She is such a brilliant casting director and a truly wonderful person. Her passion for performance, her deep connection to the theatre world, and her generosity in supporting others make her an incredible addition. I’m so excited for what we will achieve together as we continue building on the Guild’s momentum.”
Vice President Lisa Campbell said: “I’m truly honoured to step into the role of Vice President of the CGA. I’m incredibly proud to be part of this next chapter and look forward to contributing to the Guild’s continued growth, advocacy, and celebration of our industry. I also want to acknowledge the incredible work of Anousha Zarkesh—her leadership, passion, and commitment to inclusion have made a lasting impact.”
The Guild also extends its heartfelt thanks to Kathryn Courtney Prior, who has served as an incredible Secretary and has held the Guild together with such care and dedication. As she recently steps down from the role, the CGA acknowledges the immense contribution she has made over the years.
The Guild is pleased to share that Kathryn will continue her involvement by leading the Awards Committee, and we are grateful that her experience and leadership will remain part of the organisation.

She has been a constant source of support and strength, and her impact on this community is immeasurable. We are so grateful for all she has done and so glad she will remain such an important part of the Guild through the Awards Committee.”
The CGA is delighted to welcome Kelsey Martin as the new Secretary. Kelsey is excited to step into the role and contribute to the Guild’s ongoing work and vibrant community.
