Strangers in a Car Park, written and directed by Stuart McBratney, will be released in the US and Canada on November 11, 2025 through Melbourne-based distributor and sales agent One Tree Entertainment.

Set over a single night, the film follows a cleaner who recognises a celebrated surfer as the man who assaulted her. With the help of a towering Samoan courier, she confronts him and his fiancée in an underground car park.

Shot entirely in Newcastle, Australia, the film stars Brenton Prince (NCIS Sydney, Underbelly), Arnijka Larcombe-Weate (The Bureau of Magical Things, Boy Swallows Universe), Lawrence Ola (Upright, Wellmania, face of Step One underwear and Kennards Hire), Jacki Mison (Brock), Greg Powell (Pop-Up), and Eugene Gilfedder (A Christmas Carol), and was produced by Nadia Kamis.

McBratney describes the film as “an ambitious indie that explores truth and trust.” He adds, “I wanted to twist the idea of heroism and have a bit of fun with it too. We all like to think we’re good people, but everyone’s a villain to someone!”

The director’s previous work includes the feature films Spudmonkey, Pop-Up, and Don’t Read This on a Plane, and the SBS series Back in the Soviet Bloc. He is currently a lecturer in media production at the University of Newcastle, NSW.

Strangers in a Car Park will be available to rent or own on digital platforms across North America starting November 11, 2025. The official soundtrack is available here via all major streamers.
