Annette Bening heads up an impressive ensemble cast from the director of Mike Mills (the rather wonderful Beginners). Set at the tail end of the ’70s, 20th Century Women focuses on three women: Dorothea (Bening) a single mother trying to raise her son right; punk photographer Abbie (Greta Gerwig); and rebellious teen, Julie (Elle Fanning). Billy Crudup, Alia Shawkat, Kirk Bovill and Thea Gill also crop up in what looks to be a wise and sprawling coming-of-age dramedy.
Expect 20th Century Women in the first half of 2017.
