Will Ferrell’s production company Gary Sanchez is set to produce a US version of the Stan Original comedy series No Activity, with the original Australian creators, Jungle, also on board.
CBS All Access has commissioned an eight part series, which will shoot in late 2017. Jungle’s Trent O’Donnell and Patrick Brammall will act as showrunners and executive producers, with Jason Burrows and Joe Farrell also pulling EP duties.
For those not in the know, No Activity stars Patrick Brammell and Darren Gilshenan as two Aussie cops on a stakeout, and has been described as “the Seinfeld of cop shows.” It was the first Stan Original commission, and has since been followed by the likes of Wolf Creek and the upcoming Electric Dreams. Two seasons are currently available to stream on Stan.
Casting for the US iteration has yet to be announced, but expect more news in the not-too-distant future.
