World-bestriding short film festival Tropfest have added new wrinkle for their 25th anniversary go-round, teaming up with Red Bull TV to stream the festival live from Parramatta on Saturday, February 11. The stream will go out on multiple platforms around the globe, bringing Tropfest to its widest audience yet.
Additionally, Network Ten has been named as the exclusive free to air broadcast partner, and the festival will screen on ELEVEN on the same date, complete with all the red carpet folderol, celebrity inter views and other such ephemera that are part and parcel of such a big event.
Of course, this year also marks Tropfest’s first time at Parramatta Park following its recent funding and management dramas, hopefully ushering in a new and brighter for the iconic shorts showcase.
As founder John Polson observed, “It’s exciting to marvel at how far Tropfest has come, we are thrilled with every one of these exciting new partnerships. They will be an integral part of the revitalized Tropfest for its debut at our new home in Parramatta.”
