Fans of John Marsden’s beloved franchise should clear their calendars on Saturday, 23 April at 7.30pm as the six-part television series will premiere on ABC3, and the first trailer has just landed.

For anyone who has seen Stuart Beattie’s 2010 movie adaptation, the opening of the trailer will feel very familiar, but as fans will know, the expected sequels to that film sadly stalled. But the rest of the story is finally being brought to life with a cast that includes Sibylla Budd, Deborah Mailman, James Stewart and Alison Bell, along with a host of fresh new talent.

Looks fantastic :) I’m a big fan of the film and have watched it many times, most recently this evening. I was really sad when they didn’t do the rest of the books as films so I’m hoping the news of this tv series version will mean doing the other books too. I’m a really big fan, got all the books on audio and kindle format and love the film too. Cannot wait to see this new tv series, any news on when it will be shown in other countries? I’m in the UK and I really want to see this!
