After spreading itself way too thin over the last few years, Marvel Studios’ apparent new strategy of less-is-more seems to be working, with both the February 13 released Captain America: Brave New World and the July 24 released The Fantastic 4: First Steps looking like fresh, imaginative, fully realised projects, unlike slightly half-arsed fare like The Marvels. The retro-futurist production design on The Fantastic 4: First Steps is especially eye-grabbing, while the casting of Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and especially The Bear‘s Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the scene stealing The Thing looks to be surprisingly on-point.
