“My favourite horror films are great pieces of drama [which] then add the scares, such as The Ring, The Others and The Exorcist, all which influenced Surrogate,” says Director David Willing, who co-wrote the screenplay with Beth King (Nowhere Boys).
Featuring practical effects, some of which Willing reckons made his crew physically ill, Surrogate will be released worldwide in 2022 and according to the filmmakers “will terrify audiences, but also give them characters they care about.”
