For those that have been keenly following horror rocker Rob Zombie’s Twitter updates on the progress of his dream project – a big screen version of the kooky, funny and truly delightful 1960s TV sitcom The Munsters – the first trailer for the film has finally dropped. Those fearing an Eddie Munster-driven bloodbath or a Herman-led axe murder can relax; the trailer is all about (surprisingly) vivid, colourful fun, which looks to be solely of the good, clean variety. Sure, there’s plenty of outre Rob Zombie weirdness and garish visuals on display (with most of the cast coming from his troupe of regulars, including his missus Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster), but it looks like the cinematic sadist behind House Of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects has parked his gonzo brand of bad-assery in order to appropriately pay tribute to his favourite pop cultural artefact of all time. Bring it on!
