Yeah, yeah, it’s more existing IP, it’s been done before, and do we really need another movie based on a toy and cartoon line…etc etc etc…BUT we’ve gotta admit that the trailer for the new sci-fi extravaganza Masters Of The Universe is actually pretty damn good. Nicholas Galitzine cuts a fine figure in full Cosplay, costume-accurate mode as intergalactic hero He-Man (famously first essayed in live action by Dolph Lundgren in 1987), Idris Elba is in the house as his offsider Man-At-Arms, Battle Cat, Teela (Camila Mendes), and Skeletor (played by Jared Leto!) look cool, and the whole shebang gives off some pretty cool Thor-type vibes cut in with memories of the cult classic The Last Starfighter and some welcome dashes of humour. Plus, it’s directed by Travis Knight, who helmed the 2016 animated belter Kubo And The Two Strings and the underrated 2018 Transformers flick Bumblebee. By The Power Of Grayskull indeed…
