One of Australia’s most exciting filmmakers, Sophie Hyde (Animals), mines her own life for this story of a filmmaker (Olivia Colman) travelling to Amsterdam with her teen (Sophie Hyde’s actual child Aud Mason-Hyde) to reconnect with her gay father (John Lithgow). Following its premiere at Sundance, word on the street is that Hyde and her real-life partner and editor Bryan Mason have been recutting the film to give it the best chance possible of connecting with audiences.
