The Alliance Française French Film Festival [AFFFF] is jointly organised by the Alliance Française of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth and Adelaide and is supported by the French Embassy. It is curated by the Embassy’s Cultural Attaché, Karine Mauris.
As one of the main French cultural events and one of the largest film festivals in Australia, AFFFF showcases the best of contemporary French cinema with genres including action, romance, comedy, thrillers, family films, animation, and documentaries. Since its inception in 1989, more than thirty festivals have been hosted attracting over 170,000 patrons every year.
Over the course of its lifetime, The Alliance Française French Film festival has also hosted a number of honourable special guests including Catherine Deneuve, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Igor Stravinsky, Rebecca Zlotowski and Emmanuelle Bercot
Mark your cultural calendars as the countdown begins to the 2023 Alliance Française French Film Festival (AF FFF 23). Get set for a season of enchanting cinematic escapes, when the world’s largest showcase of French cinema outside of France returns to Australia, 7th March – 25th April 2023.
