One of the great things about every iteration of the Star Trek franchise is that it’s an ensemble – while some characters are somewhat foregrounded, at base it’s always a team effort. It’s not just Kirk, it’s Kirk and Spock and Bones and Scotty and Uhura and so on, or Picard and Data and Riker and… you get the picture.
And so does Paramount, who have decided to treat us all to some fantastic character posters for the upcoming third instalment of the rebooted film series.

And just to mix things up, Sofia Boutella’s Jayla, a newcomer to the series:
Notably missing (apart from Anton Yelchin’s Chekhov, probably off looking for nuclear wessels) are Chris Pine’s Kirk and Zachary Quinto’s Spock, along with Idris Elba’s villain. No doubt they’ll get their own spiffy posters any day now.
