Spotlight On…Holly Hargreaves

November 4, 2016
Writer, producer, director, actress.

Heard of Holly Hargreaves? Don’t worry, you will soon. This enterprising young Australian multitasker already has more credits than some veterans, and boasts a rising profile across social media. Already gaining a berth at festivals (it’s been accepted into this month’s NYC WebFest and UK WebFest) is Real Tinder Convos, a web series written and directed by Hargreaves which explores how awkward it would be if Tinder messages were actually said – rather than sent – in real life.

Also on Hargreaves’ resume is For Actors, a sketch comedy about the struggles of acting using random items as metaphors. A cheeky delight, the Hargreaves written-and-directed web series was recently nominated for Best Comedy Screenplay at Miami WebFest, and has been picked up by the US digital platform, Revry TV. Showcasing her broad command of styles, Hargreaves also penned the comedy animation, Poppy The Elephant, which was recently shortlisted for the ScreenCraft 20k Production fund.

Holly Hargreaves, however, might just be making the jump to the big screen soon, thanks to her feature film script, Locked In, which was selected for the Australians In Film Writers Room in LA earlier this year. Always proactive, Hargreaves has also written a short film proof of concept version, which is currently a finalist in the ScreenCraft Short Screenplay Competition, and is going into production soon. Remember that name…
