“When I first met Alex I was immediately drawn to his story,” says filmmaker Jean-Pierre Addinall. “Not only was he a Wing Chun world champion but he was working as a postman throughout his training and is still working to this day. The outlook Alex has on the world and life is very simplistic and inspiring.
“We wanted to capture some of what it was like to be Alex. The best way to do that was taking a narrative approach of Alex giving his younger self advice on how hard life can be and how to keep moving forward through all the obstacles and struggles that may be thrown your way. But ultimately at the end of the day, the reason for everything you’ve gone through is discovering what makes you happy.”
