THE SWEET EAST, a picaresque trip through the cliques and communes of today’s US, will release into Australian cinemas on May 2.

The film is the debut feature of cinematographer Sean Price Williams, (best known for his work with the Safdie brothers), from a screenplay by Nick Pinkerton and  stars Talia Ryder, Earl Cave, Simon Rex, Ayo Edebiri, Jacob Elordi, Jeremy O Harris and I Rish Shah.

THE SWEET EAST had its World Premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival Directors Fortnight, its US Premiere at the 2023 New York Film Festival and has just released in the UK.

In the lead up to the film’s release, screen writer Nick Pinkerton will be in Australia to accompany the film on a Sweet East Coast tour featuring not to be missed Q&A’s. Select screenings will include double bills featuring Ozploitation classics, selected by Pinkerton, a member of the New York Film Critics Circle whose critical writing has appeared in Sight & Sound, Village Voice, ArtForum and other publications.
