“We’re all about bringing the love,” says Screen Inc. director Dov Kornits. “We want to bring warmth, charm, and a little positivity to local audiences via The Romance Club, and we’re all set to do that again in October with A Royal in Paradise. It’s already been a massive hit all around the world, and we’re sure that Aussie audiences will open their hearts to this big screen charmer as well.”
After the success of The Romance Club’s first release – the sassy, sweetly funny girl-group romantic comedy It Only Takes a Night – back in August, the next cinematic arrow from Cupid’s quiver will hit its target on October 17 and 18, with appointment screenings of the utterly charming A Royal in Paradise, from Adrian Powers, the director of the highly anticipated Delta Goodrem/Netflix romance Love is in the Air.
Shot at the Tangalooma Island Resort on Moreton Island, just outside Brisbane, A Royal in Paradise has already wowed US audiences, and it’s about to charm its way into Australian hearts.
A winning mix of quirky humour and classic romance, A Royal in Paradise follows New York writer Olivia Perkins (Rhiannon Fish), who is on deadline for her next romantic adventure novel. Olivia’s recent breakup with her boyfriend, however, has left her with a crippling case of writer’s block. When her best friend convinces her to take a trip to the tropical Haven Isles in the hope of reinspiring her, Olivia has no idea she’ll come face to face with a real prince…and that’s because Prince Alexander of Torovia (charismatic newcomer Mitchell Bourke) is keeping his identity a secret. Experiencing all the island has to offer, Olivia and Alexander grow closer and closer, until the Prince’s secret is revealed.
“Having the opportunity to work in Australia again is a dream come true… especially on a project like this one,” says Canadian based Rhiannon Fish, who has become an in-demand romantic lead since starring in A Royal in Paradise. “Adrian Powers has found a very unique and modern way of telling a classic ‘fairy tale’.”
Adds Adrian Powers: “We had a lot of fun writing the script for this royal romance that embraces some beloved fairy tale archetypes while also possessing a great, modern message.”
It’s time to join The Romance Club…and your next date is with A Royal in Paradise.
A Royal in Paradise will screen on October 17 at 11am and October 18 at 6.30pm in cinemas around Australia.
