The Demon Disorder, the first feature from Formation Pictures, commenced filming this week in the rural community of Gleneagle, west of the Gold Coast.
Written, directed and produced by Steve Boyle, the man behind Formation Effects, The Demon Disorder is also his first feature. Producing alongside Boyle is Kyle Lema. Executive Producers are Ally Muller, Michael and Peter Spierig (Winchester, Jigsaw, Predestination, Daybreakers, and Undead).
Inspired by his deep experience creating creatures and effects for horror films Steve created The Demon Disorder and developed a story that revolves around the character of Graham Reilly, his two brothers Jake and Phillip, and their deceased father George. All their pasts collide when a deep, dark family secret is unearthed, and Graham’s garage becomes the site for a truly warped case of revenge from beyond the grave.
Cast members include Christian Willis (The School, Patricia Moore) as Graham, Dirk Hunter (Undead, Irreverent, A Royal in Paradise, Young Rock) as older brother Jake, Charles Cottier (Irreverent, Wanted, Cooped Up, Home and Away) as the youngest and most haunted sibling Phillip, and John Noble (Severance, Fringe, The Boys, Elementary, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King) appears as family patriarch George.
Steve Boyle, the writer/producer/director of The Demon Disorder has been working in the film industry internationally for more than 20 years. He has worked as a Special Effects Designer on some of the most successful fantasy and sci-fi films of all time including Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones, The Matrix Revolutions, and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. His design work can be seen in the likes of What We Do in the Shadows, and Black Sheep. Examples of his work have graced the covers of international genre magazines like Fangoria for Daybreakers and Ghost Ship. More recently his work can be seen in The Portable Door, Love and Monsters and Winchester. Boyle has written, produced and directed multiple award winnings short films such as Mullet Gut and Avulsion.
