AI filmmaking has arrived in Australia. This is the afternoon it gets a room.
On Wednesday 26 August, the inaugural Australian AI Film Awards brings the country’s AI filmmakers, screen professionals, studios and Screen Queensland together for the first time. See the winning films. Hear how the industry is actually responding. Meet Australia’s emerging AI film community before everyone knows everyone.
Five years from now, people will ask what the beginning of AI filmmaking in Australia looked like. This is that room.
Free. Limited places. One afternoon in Brisbane, during Something Fest.
WHO’S IN THE ROOM
Clayton Jacobson, CEO of Gunshy Cowboys, AI creators. The director of Kenny, twenty years inside traditional film, now making generative work. The clearest crossing-over story in the country.
Julie Eckersley, Executive Director of Screen Content at Screen Queensland. How a state screen agency navigates a medium that arrived faster than the policy for it.
Jennie Zeiher, CEO of Alussein, formerly Rising Sun Pictures. What this actually costs to build, from a career at the high end of VFX.
Emma Barbato, award-winning AI creator, presenting live on the new formats, identities and opportunities emerging through AI-powered content.
Plus, the filmmakers behind this year’s winning entries, and a room full of directors, producers, technologists and founders building the medium right now.
