Piquancy Silent Heroes supported by the State Government of Victoria and the City of Melbourne, honours the voices and lived experiences of Melbourne’s migrant and multicultural communities.

It captures deeply personal narratives of identity, cultural exchange, and belonging. Written, directed, and co-produced by Nandita Chakraborty – recipient of the 2023 Victorian Multicultural Award for Excellence in Arts – and co-produced by Niru Tripathi of CALD Community Voices, the film is a tribute to the resilience and creativity of individuals shaping the cultural fabric of our city.

We are proud to share that out of over 200 films submitted, Piquancy Silent Heroes was one of only 30 selected to screen at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival (MDFF), with Melbourne being one of its highlighted stories.

Our film is being shown at cinema Nova on the 29th July at 6:00pm.
