EVICTED! A Modern Romance is set to charm audiences with screenings in cinemas nationally this October. The relatable feature-length comedy continues to attract attention by exploring the rental crisis and cost of living.

After a successful regional tour and winning The Audience Choice Award for Best Feature at the Sydney Film Festival last year, The Story Mill duo Rowan Devereux and Sophie Saville are taking their debut feature film back on the road to the majority of metropolitan cities.

EVICTED! A Modern Romance follows the eventful impending eviction hanging over the heads of four millennial housemates, freshly unemployed Maggie (Amanda Maple-Brown), gig-economy worker Will (William Suen), and feuding couple Isabelle (Rose Haining) and May (Clare Cavanagh), who embark on a seemingly futile hunt for an affordable share house. Also, starring James Fraser (The Wilds and December Boys) and Warwick Young (Rake).

That’s not all on offer, there’s an exciting twist! Alongside the film screenings, the team are also hosting filmmaking workshops at selected venues nationally. The workshop is a bonus opportunity for emerging filmmakers to learn about the filmmaking process, to sharpen their skills, and to learn how to independently raise funds to create films. These workshops are open to all experience levels.

EVICTED! A Modern Romance has sparked conversations with its thought-provoking themes, and resulted in receiving the attention from housing organisations, charities, and businesses. Partners like the tiny homes service SEA HQ, Tenants Victoria, sunscreen brand Sunsational Sunscreen are lending their support for the tour. The team are projecting that further sponsors will be added to the tour.

The film has also scored International distribution with Indigo Entertainment in the UK and attracted interest from a local distributor. The team has not yet signed with a local distributor but is in a strong position to receive offers.
