The Digital History Prize is open to writers and creators of film, television or radio programs that offer an understanding, appreciation or interpretation of history using non-print media. The prize money is $15,000 in this category.
Entries must have been first published, broadcast, screened or made publicly available between 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024, and be commercially available within this period. Please note, this period includes screenings at film festivals both in Australia and overseas and on streaming services such as Netflix and ABC iview. Previous award winners in these categories have been The Australian Wars, Episode 1 (Blackfella Films), Freeman (Matchbox Pictures), We Don’t Need a Map (Barefoot Communications) and Ten Canoes (Vertigo Productions).
