Independently produced and financed by Gorilla Entertainment, Spines is a supernatural horror which follows the witty and adventurous orphan Angela Scott (played by Darcie Morris) and her four friends as they travel into Queensland’s outback to work on a farm. As members of the group begin to disappear, it becomes apparent that the farm and the hospitable family who reside upon it, are plagued by the bloodthirsty spirits of the undead.

Next on the cards for John is The Last Zombie, a horror comedy feature in development based on his short film by the same name which has picked up more than sixteen domestic and international film festival awards, with notable wins at IndieX Film Awards, Global Shorts Los Angeles and Indie Short Fest. Aaron Pedersen (Mystery Road), Steve Morris (The Wolverine), Nathan Jones (Mad Max: Fury Road), Darcie Morris (The Last Zombie) and Reece Walton (The Last Zombie) are attached to star. Damien Beebe (The Little Mermaid) is attached as Director of Photography.

John states, “My journey in the world of film has been a thrilling ride. As I step into the role of Director, I’m ready to craft cinematic worlds. This new chapter in my career is a leap into the unknown and I’m ready to defy gravity”.

The Last Zombie will be shot in Queensland, Australia, in 2024 and is a co-production between John’s Gorilla Entertainment and Red Empire Productions, a local Gold Coast company headed up by Producer Amie Casey. US Sales and Distribution powerhouse Organic Media Group, led by Execs, Steve Chicorel and Shari Hamrick-Grewal have also partnered with the production.
