Behind Closed Doors, run by Curiousworks and supported by Screen Australia’s Enterprise Ideas Program, is an initiative that gives up and comers a chance to work with respected industry practitioners.
Eight writers and two producers will be selected to participate in a series of workshops and work placements 5 – 7 July and 18 – 20 October to create six short films, which will be connected. These films will be developed for broadcast and online screening, with the potential for theatrical exhibition.
Applicants must be from the Greater Western Sydney area and must be from either a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) or First Nations background.
“Our aim is to nurture the talents of emerging creative from Sydney’s most diverse region by giving them real industry experience, while also bringing fresh content made by new and creative voices, to audiences hungry for bold storytelling,” said CuriousWorks Executive Director Shakthi Shakthidharan about what this program aims to achieve.
