The whimsical comedy hit of this year’s Jewish International Film Festival.
Victor and Raya Frenkel were the golden voices of Soviet film dubbing for decades, lending their talent to everything from Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep in Kramer vs. Kramer to helping Fellini launch in the USSR. In 1990, with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Frenkels immigrated to Israel, just like thousands of Soviet Jews, and are forced to adjust to the culture shock.
In their sixties, Victor’s and Raya’s attempts to use their vocal training results in bizarre and unexpected events during their first months in Israel, turning the beginning of the new chapter of their life into an amusing, painful, and absurd experience.
Starring Maria Belkin and Vladimir Friedman, GOLDEN VOICES is based on the personal experience of writer/director Evgeny Ruman.
