The cast and crew of the Aussie comedy smash hit Hercules Returns will come together for a special one-off 25th anniversary reunion screening at Sydney’s Ritz Randwick on Friday, March 9.

Stars Mary Coustas and Michael Carman, director David Parker, producer Phillip Jaroslow, plus original Double Take performers Sally Patience and Des Mangan, will be on hand for the special 35mm presentation, with a Q&A hosted by SBS‘s Jaimie Leonarder following the show.

Hercules Returns was the big-screen version of Mangan and Patience’s Double Take live show, in which the pair would perform hilarious voice-over dubs of terrible old B-movies to general laughter and acclaim. On seeing their show, Jaroslow saw the potential for a feature film version, and the rest is history.

“This is the type of movie-viewing experience which you just can’t get sitting at home in front of the TV,” says Ritz General Manager, Lachlan McLeod. “A huge cinema packed-full of like-minded people, all laughing and cheering along to one of the most loved Aussie films of the ’90s. What could be better!? For those wanting to relive when they saw the film the first time, or just looking for a super fun night at the cinema, we can’t wait to host this awesome event for all of them!”

Tickets are on sale now.
