A djinn is… “(in Arabian and Muslim mythology) an intelligent spirit of lower rank than the angels, able to appear in human and animal forms and to possess humans.” And by some reports, including THR‘s, this will be a love story involving a genie.

This will be Miller’s 10th film as a director, which is outrageous for a filmmaker of his talents, and he’s never done an out-and-out love story, so we reckon it could be one for the ages. Let’s hope Guy Ritchie doesn’t ruin our love of the genie with his upcoming live action Aladdin.

Three Thousand Years of Longing is is a script that Miller developed, but no details on who with, and what it may be based on. The filmmaker has had a running dispute with Warner Bros. over payment of royalties on Fury Road, so it looks like any prequels or sequels to that project (which have already been written according to our sources) will have to wait until this project, which will surely be funded quicksmart (we bet Netflix already has a cheque with Miller’s name on it) based on Miller’s track record and the announced bankable cast.

Stay tuned for more intel as it comes to hand.
