FilmInk Presents: Innuendo

April 13, 2017
The bad twin.

The Finnish Tuuli (Saara Lamberg) grew up in an oppressively religious and abusive family and in the shadow of her angelic twin sister. She embarks on a journey to the other side of the world, Australia, to find her true identity. Curious about nudity and sexuality, she becomes a nude model for art classes. She seems to use people to her own advantage and the good boy Thomas gets left behind when she meets the rough but charismatic chainsaw sculptor Ben (Brendan Bacon). Her innocent surface starts revealing sordid cracks and the people she meet become victoms to her twisted delusions of grandeur. The film has been compared with works of David Lynch, Martin Scorsese, Roman Polanski and the Coen Brothers.

Written, directed and produced by the Finnish and Australian Saara Lamberg, the film was shot in Australia and Finland in 2015, and completed in Australia in 2016.

The screenplay of the film won the Bronze award at the Beverly Hills screenplay contest 2014.

Innuendo is a genre bender – part psychological thriller, part dark comedy, part horror, this film is unlikely anything else you have seen before.

Screening exclusively at Cinema Nova.
