Box Office Report: June 22 – 25, 2023

Transformers finally opened wide after 2 weekends of sneaks, and did ok, all things considered - at least it beat Spider-Verse in week 4, unlike The Flash, which lived up to its name. Oh, and it must be school holiday time, because some kids' title that no one has heard of (most likely produced in Russia, dubbed for each territory) has been released by Rialto to give parents a babysitter for 90 minutes. It's just such a shame that these films take up the space that far better movies could be occupying... and speaking of which, don't be deceived by the screen averages - the higher it is, 99% the more sessions the cinema is playing the film - doesn't necessarily mean there's more people at each session ... next week, we promise, a more optimistic outlook - we hope!
