Are people still thinking that an M. Night Shyamalan film will deliver, or is it just plain marketing? The guy’s even casting his own kids in films these days, surely someone is taking the piss. Either way, his latest, Trap, opened a lot better than it has any right to, but we suppose that’s what happens when film critics matter so little these days, if at all.
In other news, it looks like the older female demographic is truly yesterday’s news, with the star-studded return of The Divine Miss M to the screen not inspiring the masses to check out The Fabulous Four in any significant numbers.
Speaking of significant numbers, check out how much the Catherine Deneuve starrer The President’s Wife made at the French Film Festival, ahead of its general release last Thursday. Jaw-dropping!
