The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts revealed the slate of feature films in competition for this year’s AACTA Awards, as well as launching the Official Screenings Program,  which brings together screen professionals and fans to watch, discuss and judge the feature films in competition, the short film nominees, and the feature length documentary nominees.

24 feature films are competing in this year’s AACTAS:

Hacksaw Ridge

Joe Cinque’s Consolation

Looking for Grace

Pawno

Red Billabong

Scare Campaign

Spear

Spin Out

Spirit of the Game

Sucker

Tanna

The Daughter

The Menkoff Method

Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead

The Official Screenings Program, begins with a screening of A Few Less Men, in Sydney’s Event Cinemas, Bondi Junction, on Monday 29 August and at Melbourne’s Cinema Nova on Tuesday 30 August.

This year the Feature Length Documentaries and Short Film nominees screen in Perth for the first time, from September 12 – 19 , at Event Cinemas Innaloo.

The majority of feature films, plus all the nominated documentaries and short films will be available via the dedicated streaming service AACTA TV as well. The Official Screenings Program and AACTA TV are exclusive and complimentary to members of AFI and AACTA .

    But not “Is This The Real World” – what a tragedy….it is beautiful – as reviewed by Film Inc…but snubbed because truly out of the system and truly independent.

    Only heard of two of those, the other one is ‘The Daughter’

    Are there still no Awards for MakeUp, Lighting, Stuntwork?
