“With this sequel, we wanted to once again create a vibrant and charming movie that the whole family can enjoy. We hope audiences enjoy this modern fairytale romance, sprinkled with a touch of snow, and are eager for this story to continue!” said co-writer/director Adrian Powers about the surprise sequel.

Filmed in 2022, A Royal in Paradise proved popular upon its release in Europe and North America, recently releasing in cinemas and transactional VOD in its native Australia. That film saw a blossoming relationship develop between romance writer Olivia Perkins (Rhiannon Fish) and Prince Alexander (Mitchell Bourke) of fictional kingdom Torovia, after they both meet cute on a tropical resort.

According to a press release, A Royal Proposal takes place six months later, “and although they are officially together, their busy schedules mean that Olivia feels more distant from him now, than ever” and “sees Olivia and Prince Alexander travel to the lavish country of Torovia to celebrate Christmas with Queen Patricia (Andrea Moor) and the Royal family. With Olivia’s parents along for the ride, cultures clash between the two families and everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. Will Olivia find her happily ever after?”

“It’s wonderful to be revisiting the characters of Olivia and Prince Alexander, to see where their love story takes them,” said Rhiannon Fish. “I enjoyed working with Mitchell, Adrian and the whole Jaggi Entertainment team last year, and it has been exciting to be reunited again.”
