If you’re not, this city’s gonna swallow you.” Them’s fighting words from Daniel Ogbogu, one of Nigeria’s most promising rollerbladers, captured with beauty and immediacy by Australian documentarian Dom West. Although rollerblades might seem like a kitsch throwback to the ’90s, to these West African youths, it’s a form of expression and rebellion not dissimilar to the West’s continuing love of skateboarding.
