With COVID-19 claiming another cinematic scalp, the always interesting Revelation Perth International Film Festival has joined many of its counterparts by pivoting and reshaping as a temporary online entity. Branded “Couched”, the event will run online via Eventive from July 9-19 and will present a selection of features and documentaries from across the world, including a number of premieres. Playing out pretty much like a festival in cyberspace, “Couched” will feature live panels, talks, presentations and short films. Films will be available for rent for a 24-hour period through the fest, with titles available to viewers, well, everywhere.
“We exist to show films, and that’s something we will continue to do,” says Jack Sargeant, Program Director. “Most films will be available Australia wide for the duration of the fest and several will be made available internationally. This gives us an opportunity to showcase movies across the world, and to give people a small taste of what we do.”
