Leonardo DiCaprio took to Instagram to drop the first official look at him and Brad Pitt all dolled up for their turns in Quentin Tarantino’s Summer of ’69-set epic, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Behold:

DiCaprio and Pitt are playing Rick Dalton, a TV actor trying to break into the movies, and his best bud and stunt double, Cliff Booth, respectively. As is typical of Tarantino’s trivia-soaked, pop-cultured-obsessed brain, the characters are based on tough guy actor Burt Reynolds and his primo amigo, actual tough guy Hal Needham.

The pair will be joined by a staggering roster of talent, including Margot Robbie, Dakota Fanning, James Marsden, Clifton Collins Jr., Timothy Olyphant, Emile Hirsch, Scoot McNairy, Damian Lewis, Al Pacino, and, of course, the real Burt Reynolds (Needham died in 2013 at the ripe age of 82) for QT’s sprawling tinsel town tale, which will no doubt prove to be a Manson Murders movie in the same way that Inglourious Basterds was a guys-on-a-mission movie (ie: barely). Our money is on Tarantino using the Manson Family’s grim doings as a spine around which to build something much larger, weirder and more ambitious, as is his wont.

Expect Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in August 2019.
